Over the past 5 years, Performance Panel costs have decreased 17%. Meanwhile...- Plastic resins & materials prices are up 51%
- Fabricated steel prices are up 49%
- Aluminum prices are up 38%
- Corrugated container prices are up 24%
While the costs of industrial materials in the U.S. continue to climb, wood products remain consistently a better value than other component products. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, over the last four years, prices for plastic resins and materials are up 51 percent, fabricated steel is up 49 percent, aluminum is up 38 percent, and corrugated containers are up 24 percent. Wood products, on the other hand have declined six percent.
Performance Panels are used in industrial applications where both performance and value are a concern. There are many domestic producers and suppliers of structural wood panels throughout North America, assuring industrial users a consistent source of quality products and further reducing the hidden costs of delayed shipments and inferior product performance.
Performance Panels are ideally suited for furniture, cabinets, pallets, signs, containers, reels and mezzanine floors, as well as component parts for a multitude of other useful products. They are strong and stiff (pound for pound, wood is stronger than steel), emit very low levels of formaldehyde, resist high-impacts, are easily shaped and have proven durability in all kinds of conditions.
